Core Partners

THE ISSUE has established a vibrant transnational consortium of research-driven clusters in the East Midlands Region in the United Kingdom, the Midi Pyrénées and Aquitaine Regions in France, the Molise Region in Italy and the Mazovia Region in Poland. The triple helix approach of business and academia in partnership with local/regional authorities in each region will bring innovative solutions and new methodologies for traffic control and management into the realm of regional transport policy and environmental impact planning. The consortium's research partners have complementary state-of-the-art RTD programmes in areas relating to traffic, health and the environment. Each regional cluster is committed to working together to identify ways in which their RTD activities in these areas can be more closely aligned with local economic development priorities and the needs of business. This is the approach to realise sustainable economic development, also contributing to citizen's safety and quality of life, in each of the consortium regions.
